The tour begins in the ancient medieval center of the city, amidst the violets of Via delle Volte and the historic Jewish ghetto. A must-see is the visit to the Cathedral Museum, housed within the former church of San Romano. Here, you’ll find art works by Cosmè Tura, precious Flemish tapestries, and 13th-century reliefs from the Cathedral’s “Months Door.” A short walk from here takes you to Palazzo Schifanoia, famous for its Hall of the Months adorned with frescoes by the masters of the Ferrarese workshop from the 15th century, and the Church of Santa Maria in Vado.

Continuing through Ferrara’s most captivating locations, such as Cavour Rationalist Street and its curiosities, you’ll stroll towards Piazza Castello to explore the Estense Castle, an ancient fortress of Ferrara. A final effort leads us to Palazzo Diamanti, which takes its name from its magnificent facade composed of 8,000 pyramid-shaped white and pink marble stones.
